About this rug
Totoro's grin made me want to give this portrait a proper shaggy surface. I wanted the white eyes and smile to stay clearly visible in the brown yarn, with enough texture around them to suit the character. The face is simple, but the expression fills the whole design.
I make each rug by hand from premium acrylic yarn, keeping the brown pile long and loose. The facial details need attention so their shapes remain readable among the Shaggy texture. You can see that actual fuzzy surface in the close-up photos.
Totoro's grin has quite a lot of texture around it in this version. I wanted the face to keep its friendly mood inside the shaggy brown yarn. He can sit beside your keyboard as a character you enjoy looking at, with the soft-looking surface shown in the close-up photos. This version measures approximately 44 × 16 cm and works as a soft wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Check the space before ordering. A small mouse rug can be selected separately as an extra.
