About this rug
The Cheshire Cat's grin made me want to give this rug plenty of expression. I wanted the white smile and coloured eyes to stay visible in the grey shaggy yarn, so the face still feels familiar even with all that texture around it. The grin is doing most of the introduction.
I make each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn, keeping the grey surface long and shaggy. The eyes and mouth need attention so their shapes stay readable among the loose pile. You get the fuzzy texture of the Shaggy design together with those clearly placed facial details.
The grin seems to arrive before you've properly looked at the rest of the cat. That was the feeling I wanted the rug to keep, with real shaggy texture around the face. The little mushroom is a fitting extra if you'd like to give him more of a scene. The approximate size is 44 × 16 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Check the space before ordering. The optional extra for this version is a mushroom mouse rug, selected separately.
