About this rug
Perry's orange bill gave me the starting point for this shaggy keyboard rug. I wanted it to stay clearly shaped against turquoise, with the eyes keeping that very particular, unreadable expression. The face is simple, which makes the placement of those details important.
I tuft each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn and keep the turquoise surface shaggy. The longer yarn gives the character a real fuzzy texture, while the bill and eyes need their own clear space in the face. I take care with those shapes so the expression stays visible.
Perry is giving very little away, judging by those eyes. I wanted the rug to keep that familiar face inside the turquoise texture, with the orange bill still doing its part. He can join your desk as a shaggy little companion while you get on with your own fairly ordinary plans. The approximate size is 44 × 16 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Measure that space first. The little mouse rug is a separate optional extra.
