About this rug
Mario's moustache and red cap made a good starting point for a close-up rug. I wanted the face to remain friendly and easy to recognise, with the blue eyes clearly placed under the cap. Those small shapes carry a lot of the character's expression.
I hand-tuft each keyboard rug from premium acrylic yarn, then carefully refine the edges around the moustache and eyes. Round shapes still need a neat finish so they do not lose their outline in the surrounding colour. The result is a soft surface with the portrait worked into the yarn.
Mario gets a little space at the front of your keyboard, red cap and all. The close-up keeps the face friendly enough to enjoy between work and games. It's a small way to have a familiar character among your everyday things, especially if that moustache already makes you smile. Standard and Compact sizes are available for the space in front of your keyboard, where the rug serves as a wrist rest. Measure the area before choosing one. Want the small mouse rug too? Select it separately as an extra.
