About this rug
Bumblebee's bright blue eyes made me want to keep this robot portrait close. I wanted the yellow armour panels to stay clearly shaped around them, because those mechanical details give the face its familiar look. The long keyboard rug gives the helmet enough room.
I make each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn. After tufting, I carefully trim and carve around the panel boundaries and eye shapes. The small dark lines need to remain visible between the yellow sections so the portrait keeps its structure in the soft surface.
Bumblebee's blue eyes make the robot portrait feel surprisingly expressive. I wanted those eyes to keep their place inside the small armour shapes, so you can enjoy the face beside your keyboard. A Transformers fan can have a familiar character close while working through their own daily plans. The approximate size is 44 × 16 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Check that space before ordering. The little mouse rug is an optional extra selected separately.
