About this rug
For this Halo helmet rug, I wanted the gold visor to remain visible inside the darker armour. The green lines give the black panels their structure, and the long shape leaves room for the full helmet close-up. It's the small panel changes that make the portrait interesting to work in yarn.
I tuft each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn. Once the tufting is finished, I carefully trim and carve around the visor and panel boundaries. The finishing keeps the narrow green lines clear across the soft black surface.
This darker helmet version gives the gold visor quite a different setting. I wanted the small green lines to remain visible around it, so you can enjoy the armour details up close. A Halo fan can keep that familiar look alongside the rest of their gaming setup. The approximate size is 45 × 18 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of a keyboard. Check that space before ordering. The small mouse rug can be chosen separately as an extra.
