About this rug
For this Cheshire Cat version, I wanted the striped cheeks and pink nose to stay clear around the grin. The long white smile gives the portrait its expression, and the grey background keeps all those facial details together. There's quite a lot of shape in what first looks like a simple cat face.
I make each rug by hand from premium acrylic yarn. After tufting, I carefully carve around the smile, stripes and smaller lines.
This Cheshire Cat keeps the grin in the patterned, carved surface. The striped cheeks give you more to enjoy when you look at the portrait up close. I wanted that familiar mischievous face to sit beside the keyboard, as though the cat has quietly found a place in your setup. The approximate size is 44 × 16 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Measure that area first. The optional extra for this design is a mushroom mouse rug, selected separately.
