About this rug
The blue face and red eyes inspired this Thrawn-style keyboard rug. I wanted the portrait to keep its stern expression, with the dark hair framing the gaze. The eyes are small details, but they make a big difference to how the whole face reads.
I tuft each piece by hand using premium acrylic yarn, then carefully trim and carve the facial boundaries. The red needs to stay clearly placed against the blue, and the brow lines need their own space too. Taking care around those features gives the soft surface its defined expression.
Thrawn's stern face looks as though he's giving your plans some serious consideration. I wanted that expression to stay in the rug, right down to the small red eyes. It's a character reference you can keep near the keyboard while you decide what your next move is going to be. This version is approximately 45 × 16 cm and works as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Check your available desk space before ordering. The small mouse rug is a separately selected extra.
