About this rug
Superman's shield felt like a good emblem to make in yarn. The red and yellow shapes are familiar straight away, but the angles still need to be right for the symbol to read clearly. I wanted to keep the blue background simple and let the shield take up the space.
I make each keyboard rug by hand from premium acrylic yarn. After tufting, I carefully work around the inside and outside edges of the emblem. The small joins in the S shape need enough definition to remain visible once the design becomes a soft surface.
The shield already says plenty on its own. I wanted to give it a place among your everyday desk things, with the familiar colours still working together in the yarn. A Superman fan can enjoy the emblem while working, playing or simply making the setup feel a little more personal. The approximate size is 45 × 16 cm. Place it in front of your keyboard as a wrist rest after checking the space you have available. This is a handmade emblem piece with the colour combination shown in the photos.
