About this rug
Patrick's expression made me want to try him as a keyboard rug. I wanted to keep the soft pink face and that wonderfully unhurried look, even with the portrait stretched across the space in front of a keyboard. He really doesn't need much going on around him.
I make each Patrick rug by hand from premium acrylic yarn. After tufting, I carefully trim and carve the facial outlines so the expression stays readable in the soft surface. The shape of the eyes and mouth matters here; those small lines are what keep him looking like himself.
Patrick doesn't look as though he's rushing anything, which feels rather appropriate beside a busy keyboard. I wanted that unhurried little face to stay with you during the day. You can get on with your work; he can keep looking very relaxed about the whole situation. It works as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard, with Standard and Compact sizes listed below. Check your desk space before choosing. The small mouse rug is available as a separately selected extra if you'd like both pieces.
- Material: premium acrylic yarn; hand-tufted.
- Use: soft wrist rest in front of a keyboard.
- Size options: Standard 44 × 16 cm (17.3 × 6.3 in) or Compact 32 × 16 cm (12.6 × 6.3 in).
- Optional extra: small mouse rug (selected separately).
