About this rug
The gold visor was the starting point for this Halo helmet keyboard rug. I wanted the green armour panels to stay clearly shaped around it, with the dark lines giving the portrait its structure. A helmet has a lot of small angles that are satisfying to work out in yarn.
I make each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn. After tufting, I carefully trim and carve around the panel boundaries so they stay separate across the soft surface. The visor gets its own clear edge, which helps the full helmet shape remain easy to read.
The visor is the detail I wanted you to notice when the rug is beside your keyboard. The armour lines give you more to look at up close. For a Halo fan, it's a small part of the game's visual world you can keep in your own setup. The approximate size is 45 × 16 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of a keyboard. Check your desk space first. A small mouse rug is available as a separately selected extra.
