About this rug
Calcifer's little face made me want to try a flame design in yarn. I wanted the orange shape to keep its points and curves, while the expression stayed clear in the middle. The cream background gives the whole flame room without making the portrait feel busy.
I tuft each keyboard rug by hand from premium acrylic yarn, then carefully finish around the flame and smaller facial details. The outline changes direction quite often, so I follow it closely when carving the edges.
A little Calcifer beside the keyboard feels like a good bit of company. I wanted the flame shape and that tiny face to stay together, so you get the character's expression when you look down. He can bring some colour to the desk without asking you to rearrange the whole room. Choose Standard or Compact for the space in front of your keyboard, where the rug works as a wrist rest. The measurements are listed below. A little mouse rug is available as a separately selected extra.
- Material: premium acrylic yarn; hand-tufted.
- Use: soft wrist rest in front of a keyboard.
- Size options: Standard 44 × 16 cm (17.3 × 6.3 in) or Compact 32 × 16 cm (12.6 × 6.3 in).
- Optional extra: small mouse rug (selected separately).
