About this rug
Marge's blue hair was the reason I wanted to try this portrait in a 3D keyboard rug. I wanted it to have some actual height above the yellow face, with the shaggy yarn giving the familiar shape its own texture. The hair is such a big part of recognising her.
I tuft each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn, keeping the blue hair raised above the facial area. The eyes and smaller lines still need to remain clear beneath it, so I take care with the way those details sit together. This is a Shaggy version with visible volume in the yarn.
Marge's hair gets some real height in this version, which feels right for such a familiar shape. You can enjoy the raised blue texture when you look at the piece from the side. It's a little Simpsons portrait with something to notice beyond the first glance from above. Choose Standard or Compact for the space in front of your keyboard, where the rug works as a wrist rest. The measurements are listed below. A little mouse rug is available as a separately selected extra.
- Material: premium acrylic yarn; hand-tufted.
- Use: soft wrist rest in front of a keyboard.
- Size options: Standard 44 × 16 cm (17.3 × 6.3 in) or Compact 32 × 16 cm (12.6 × 6.3 in).
- Optional extra: small mouse rug (selected separately).
