About this rug
The Homer-in-the-bushes meme gave me a reason to use shaggy yarn as part of the picture. I wanted the green surface to become the hedge, with Homer's little face tucked into it. The texture helps tell the joke before you have even looked closely at the portrait.
I make each rug by hand from premium acrylic yarn, keeping the green pile long and shaggy around the face. The facial details still need to stay visible, so I work carefully around their shape. This is a Shaggy design: the loose yarn is an actual part of the surface, giving the bushes their texture.
Homer is already halfway into the hedge, which is a fairly convincing response to some conversations. The shaggy green yarn gets to be part of the joke itself. I wanted this rug to keep the meme's little disappearing act, right where you can glance at it between messages. The rug works as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Choose Compact or Standard after checking the measurements below. The optional extra for this design is a donut mouse rug, selected separately.
