About this rug
Darth Vader's helmet and red lightsaber inspired this keyboard rug. I wanted the grey mask details to stay visible against black, with his red lightsaber and its white glow running along the edge. The shape is familiar, but the smaller sections are worth keeping clear too.
I tuft each piece by hand from premium acrylic yarn, then carefully trim and carve around the helmet panels. The face depends on those narrow lines remaining separate in the soft surface. I also carefully trim around the red blade and its white outline, so the lightsaber stays clear beside the portrait.
Vader's helmet can make even a very ordinary desk task look a little more dramatic. I wanted the mask lines to remain worth looking at up close, including the smaller grey sections. A fan can keep the familiar face nearby while getting on with considerably less galactic business. The approximate size is 45 × 16 cm, intended as a wrist rest in front of your keyboard. Measure the space before ordering. The small mouse rug is a separate option if you want the extra piece.
